More Info	A call out to all my friends! The the arty to the crafty! To the board! No matter were you are! My birthday is on the 25th, and i decided for my birthday to invite all of you to a yarn crawl! ... On the day of my birthday (or at lest in the week of) I and who ever wants to join me, shall go for a yarn crawl! What is a yarn crawl?? Its like a bar crawl only we are all going to hit the streets and yarn bomb! You heard me, we are all going to yarn bombing!!! Grab you knitting needles and crochet hooks and hit up your local street lamp, park bench and ect. Does that staute look cold? Make it a scarf! Does the parking meter look blah? Make it a cozy! Just dont cover over any signs or important things that will get you in trouble. (i'm not responsible for you guy but please dont do anything unwise) Just take photos if you can! (it will be cool to see what everyone does) (if you dont know what yarn bombing or yarn storming is) Yarn bombing, yarnbombing, graffiti knitting, guerrilla knitting, or yarnstorming is a type of graffiti or street art that employs colorful displays of knitted or crocheted cloth rather than paint or chalk. October Rewind (in a nutshell)

As alot of you know I went down to Oregon for a maybe 2 week trip to see family around the end of September. Which as some of you know became a MONTH long trip. :)

But I had fun, got to be with family,

 got to be on the radio, yarn bombed a steam engine, played with peoples pets,

Got crafty,

Explored, found a weird building in a graveyard. Put a bet down on what the building was and lost.
(its a restroom not a pump shed)



Scared a love one by daring her to look in the pot.

And just all around madness that comes from having around xD



Got the train :) I've talked about this on Facebook but for everyone that wanted to see more pics. Here they are.
And for the readers that don't know what I'm talking about.

Theres an old steam engine in Avery Park, you have to love a town were this is their idea of child's jungle gym.

The girl helping me out is my niece, who was willing to do the climbing for me. We went out for a walk the day before my radio appearance on Knit Happens. We hit a bus stop, and went on to the park. Yes it was my idea but in my defense I didnt remember it being that far away! XD

Had a lot of fun :) wonder if their still up.

Project: How to make a huge pompom.

I've made a huge pompom for a tag I'm getting ready to do. And I thought I would share how to do it just in case you ever need to make a HUGE pompom. :)

 

(massive pompom over a foot wide)

1. Get your stuff. In order to make this your going to need a flat box (like the one shown), chair back or something you can wrap the yarn around. And a lot of yarn, you can do this with one strand of yarn, but I can't see that ending well. I used 3 white, 1 purple, 1 black (and later added 1 green).Even with 6 things of yarn it took a wile but its worth it I think. :) (BTW needless to say, measure your box across were your going to be wrapping this will be about how wide it's going to be. Be warned the bigger, the more time your stuck wrapping. Just saying...) And heavy duty scissors.

2. Pull yarn from the center of the skein, which helps keep the skeins and keeps the chances of tangles down some. Hold your strands on your box (or whatever) until you have wrapped over them so much they no longer move. 

3. Keep wrapping until you got it as big as you feel need it.

3.When you get it to the size you need (remember too big is better then too small). Cut your yarn. Then cut two pieces of yarn. Slide your hand between the box (board, chair back, etc.) take a strand of yarn pull it threw and then take both ends and tie them a few good times. Repeat this on other side. This is to keep your pompom from falling apart when your sliding it off your box (or whatever).

5. Remove yarn from box (etc). This is about the time you can start to marvel at how much yarn is in this thing. Anyway, Take more yarn and tie it around the middle about were the other ties were made. If you chose to keep them long so that you can tie them to something make sure you mark them somehow.
WARNING!: TIE it well!!! Tie it like your house will fall around you if you don't have this chunk of yarn tied down! Anyone who has made small pompoms can tell you what happens when you make slipknot on a pompom. POOF!!! And with a normal one, they send 100's if not 1000's of little bits of yarn everywhere when they fall apart. think what a 2 lb + will do!

6. After making sure you got everything the way you want it. Grab your scissors and start on one side and start cutting loops. Your now 1/2 way there. Feel free to wear it as a hat before you get to work on the other side.

 7. enjoy. you can cut the sides down and make it more round if you like or leave it shaggy (like mine) which makes it look like a possessed fry kid from McDonald's.

One of the things I've found fun about Yarn Graffiti, Is making up labels.

Heres the one thats going on the next few tags. Alot of times I will have two tags, one with my name and one telling people what they are looking at. Trying out maybe mixing them together.
